With snowshoes to the Rifugio Contrin

DESCRIPTION
Fabulous snowshoeing from Alba di Canazei to the Rifugio Contrin.
Leaving the car near the Ciampac cable car, go up the steep forest road to the Baita Locia de Contrin. From here it becomes a flat stretch and the valley opening up will give you a beautiful panorama. If you look back you will notice the beautiful Sassolungo Group illuminated by the morning sun. From the Rifugio Contrin you can then admire, while tasting your sandwich, the beauty of the Marmolada.

ITINERARY
From the Ciampac cable car parking lot, take trail 602. At an altitude of 1736 m we find the Baita Locia de Contrin. Continue the path and shortly after you arrive at the Baita Cianci (1847 m). Last stretch and you arrive at the Rifugio Contrin (2016 m). Not far away is the Malga Contrin. You return by the same road.

EQUIPMENT
It is recommended to have the appropriate equipment: kit for self-rescue in avalanches (consisting of Artva, shovel and probe), snowshoes, sticks, crampons, glasses, sunscreen, hiking boots, winter clothing, gloves, cap, backpack hot drinks.
