Sassongher from La Villa

DESCRIPTION
Classic Dolomite excursion in Val Badia.
The itinerary we propose is quite challenging, but it will leave you with an indelible memory for its scenic beauty. Climbing from La Villa is a choice to avoid the numerous groups that go up with the ski lifts from Colfosco. Walking requires only a good pair of boots, a minimum of mountain experience, proper self-confidence and a little training. Sassongher is the mountain that dominates Corvara in Alta Val Badia and its charm is such that it attracts many mountain enthusiasts.

ITINERARY
From the car park (1423 m) follow the Planmurin Str. Towards South / West, cross the SS24 and go up to the Funtanacia Str. Following the signpost n. 7. Arrived at the Forcella Sassongher (2435 m) continue on the 7 reaching the top of the Sassongher (2665 m) - ascent time 3:50. Return to Forcella Sassongher and first take path no. 5 and then 15 and you arrive at the Forcela de Gherdenacia (2544 m). Here you turn right, following the signposts n. 15 and 11, reaching the Rifugio Gardenacia (2050 m). Now return to the starting point for path 5 passing through Ütia Sponata (1750 m).
