Cimon of Bolentina

DESCRIPTION
The path that starts from Bolentina, a hamlet of Malè, and climbs up to the summit of Cimon di Bolentina, will take you to a magnificent place that lies between two valleys: Val di Sole and Val di Rabbi.
We started from Bolentina, but if you want you can go up further and park in Mas de Mez, thus saving a bit of paved road. The stretch up to the Marinelli bivouac does not present particular difficulties: it is almost all in the woods and the slope is not demanding. On the other hand, the last stretch, the one to get to the top of the summit of Cimon di Bolentina, is a bit challenging due to the slope and the danger of avalanches: here we used crampons to avoid slipping on the frozen snow.
From the top you can enjoy a beautiful view over the Val di Sole, Val di Rabbi and all the peaks in the area.

ITINERARY
From the village of Bolentina (1202 m) go up the paved road for 1.7 km and then in the locality of Mas de Mez (1317 m) take the dirt road that leads, first to the repeater to Piazza Marentaia (1500 m) and then to Malghetto (1600 m). From here you go up to the Malga Bolentina Alta / Malga Senage (1850 m), to the Bivacco Dino Marinelli (2075 m) and to the Cimon di Bolentina peak (2287 m). Return to Malghetto by the same road and then take path 119B to return to Mas de Mez. Now you go back to the starting point for the asphalted road.
